Yes. I actually began work on this a few days ago. There are some significant issues to deal with concerning dependencies, etc.

I will post a new blog entry when the backport is ready.

Bacula 2.2.5 is out, many bugs were closed and this release looks very interesting…
bacula 2.2.5-1 debs are available for sid.
We run your bacula version on etch servers and would like to continue :) Are you planning to backport bacula 2.2.4 or 2.2.5?

you are absolutelly right.
There was an additional line in my sources.list which didn’t say etch.

Now it worked fine.

The bacula packages are the only thing currently available in my backports repository. Are you sure you dont have sources for lenny listed in your sources.list?

For libc6 and bacula-fd specifically, the version in my repository requires libc6 (>= 2.3.5-1). Etch has libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 currently.

I’m guessing that your system is trying to upgrade itself to lenny according to how your sources.list is set up?

Hi jd,

I like to use your backport for bacula on a etch system.
But as I give it a try I will get a huge list of packages which get updated too. Thats not what I liked.
Is there anything special I need to take care ?
Especially the libc6 seems to be a problem with the version.

http://www.backports.org/ now have an Etch section. You can may be load our backports on? I’m sure that many people will be happy.

No plan to build a Sarge backport too?

Stephane: Looks like I accidentally removed the i386 packages at some point. I only have one machine of that architecture so I didn't notice. It's now fixed.
